Lifeguard – Sports & Leisure

About the role

An exciting role has arisen in the Wellness division at Jumeirah for a highly motivated and hard‑working individual. The lifeguard will safeguard guests across all aquatic facilities, deliver exceptional service, and support special events.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all water areas are protected during operational hours by practicing preventative lifeguarding in line with the Ellis & Associates International Lifeguard Training Program.
• Follow Jumeirah Standard Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Plans.
• Perform water rescues, administer First Aid and CPR when required.
• Enforce facility rules and provide friendly crowd control throughout aquatic areas.
• Maintain a cheerful attitude while communicating effectively with guests and colleagues.
• Provide professional lifeguarding services at any Jumeirah property or exclusive‑use event and assist in preparing facilities for special functions.
• Clean pools, walkways, pool furniture and surrounding paths.
• Report any safety concerns to management.

Required profile

• Able to swim 50 meters nonstop.
• Able to swim 3 meters underwater.
• Able to swim 200 meters in under 4 minutes 30 seconds.
• Able to retrieve a brick from a depth of 3 meters.
• Able to tread water with hands above water for 2 minutes and hands under water for 3 minutes.
• Able to swim 400 meters in under 8 minutes.
• Completed the Open Water Beach Lifeguard Course.
