Linear & Pivot Systems Technician - Farm

About the role

Apt Resources is looking for a skilled Linear & Pivot Systems Technician to operate and maintain center pivot and linear irrigation systems on a farm in Dubai. The role focuses on ensuring efficient irrigation, optimizing water use, and supporting crop yield.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and supervise pivot and linear irrigation systems, performing regular inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, including tower alignment, control box communication, and motor boxes.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as U‑joints, U‑pipes, drop hoses, and sprinkler nozzles; conduct gear oil changes.
• Monitor and adjust irrigation schedules using automation boxes, web platforms, and mobile devices, ensuring compliance with water regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and water usage data.
• Collaborate with farm management and agronomists to improve irrigation efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a related field.
• 4–5 years of experience as an Irrigation Systems Technician or similar role.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Required skills

• Operation and maintenance of pivot and linear irrigation systems.
• Electrical diagnostics (multimeter, pentameter) and hydraulic/mechanical systems.
• Understanding of irrigation scheduling and water management practices.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
