Livestock Stockman – Calving & Animal Health Specialist

About the role

Apt Resources is seeking an experienced Livestock Stockman to join a VIP client’s dairy farm in the UAE. You will be responsible for the overall health, welfare and productivity of dairy cattle, with a special focus on calving and animal health monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor dairy cattle health, identify illness or distress, and administer basic treatments under veterinary guidance.
• Assist with calving, provide newborn calf care, and support breeding programs including artificial insemination and heat detection.
• Prepare and distribute feed according to the farm’s nutrition plan, ensure feed quality and proper storage.
• Maintain clean animal housing and milking areas, uphold hygiene standards, and service equipment used in livestock care.
• Support milking operations, record milk yield, and keep accurate production data.
• Maintain detailed records of animal health, treatments, feeding schedules, breeding data and report observations to the farm manager.
• Follow farm policies, safety regulations and animal welfare standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agriculture or related field (highly desirable).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in livestock husbandry, preferably with cattle.
• Strong knowledge of animal health, behavior and welfare practices.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with physical stamina for manual labor.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
