Maintenance Supervisor (Machineries & Heavy Equipment)

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead the maintenance of plant, heavy equipment, machinery and vehicles within a construction environment. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, ensuring safety and improving equipment reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities for all plant and heavy equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults and ensure timely repairs.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules based on operating hours and manufacturer recommendations.
• Supervise mechanics, technicians, electricians and workshop personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, service history, breakdowns, repairs and maintenance costs.
• Coordinate with procurement and stores to ensure timely availability of spare parts, lubricants and tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in plant and machinery maintenance, preferably in the UAE/GCC construction industry.
• Hands‑on experience with excavators, wheel loaders, cranes, forklifts, generators, compressors, concrete pumps and other heavy machinery.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems and electrical systems.
• Experience in preventive maintenance planning, breakdown management and workshop supervision.
• Proficiency in spare parts management and maintenance documentation.
• Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is an advantage.
