Maintenance Supervisor – Plastic Manufacturing

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead the Engineering & Maintenance team to ensure maximum machine availability, reliability, safety and productivity in a plastic manufacturing plant producing bottles, cans and caps.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain production equipment availability, reduce repeat failures and improve MTBF.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules and condition checks on time.
• Rapidly respond to breakdowns, troubleshoot safely and restore production, minimizing MTTR.
• Maintain utilities such as compressors, chillers, dryers, pumps and electrical distribution.
• Control critical spares, optimise maintenance expenditure and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure safety compliance through LOTO, PTW, machine guarding and safe work practices.
• Allocate manpower, train technicians and manage shift handovers.

Required profile

• Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related field.
• 5–10 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a plastic processing plant.
• Hands‑on experience with injection moulding, extrusion, printing and auxiliary equipment.
• Knowledge of utilities (compressors, chillers, DG, electrical distribution) and control systems.

Required skills

• PLC, HMI, VFD/servo drives, sensors, interlocks, control panels.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumps, valves, cylinders, FRL, solenoids.
• Mechanical components: bearings, gearboxes, lubrication, alignment.
• Utility equipment: compressors, dryers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, DG.
• Maintenance tools and software (e.g., SAP for reporting).
