Maintenance Technician (Meat Processing Unit)

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will work on the meat processing line of GMG Foods, performing hands‑on maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment. The role ensures that all assets operate at peak performance, supporting production efficiency while meeting strict safety and hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on all processing equipment.
• Identify and report equipment faults, escalating unfamiliar issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Assist the supervisor with daily maintenance tasks and emergency breakdown repairs.
• Inspect equipment for wear, replace faulty components promptly, and help implement preventive maintenance plans.
• Maintain compliance with HACCP and GMP standards.
• Document all maintenance actions, manage tools and spare‑parts inventory, and follow safety protocols.
• Collaborate with production staff to suggest improvements for machine performance and reliability.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in machine operation or technical work within the frozen food industry.
• High School Diploma or ITI trade certificate in electrical or mechanical disciplines.
