Manufacturing Engineer - Rotating Equipment
Immensa · Doubaï
Job description
About the role
Immensa, which helps large energy companies solve spare-part challenges through digital inventory and distributed manufacturing, is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer acting as a subject-matter expert on rotating equipment. The role reports to the Head of Project Management and is an individual contributor with matrix accountability for project teams and supplier deliverables. It covers pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes and drivers.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret 3D CAD models and 2D drawings (including GD&T, fits, tolerances, coatings and NDT callouts) and define, plan and drive manufacturing of rotating components.
- Own the manufacturing project lifecycle from kick-off to supplier delivery and final inspection, ensuring OTIF delivery.
- Act as the main technical and commercial interface with the rotating-equipment supply base, turning design intent into a manufacturable, quality-assured production route.
- Select and justify the manufacturing route (multi-axis machining, turning and turn-mill, gear cutting and grinding, casting and forging, welding, thermal spray, heat treatment) and material of construction.
- Control critical characteristics such as concentricity, runout, clearances, coating and hardness, and dynamic balancing grade (ISO 21940 / API).
- Manage project schedules, milestones and deliverables, and drive supplier execution through technical data packages and process-plan reviews.
- Lead design and process reviews, identify risks and maintain risk and lessons-learned registers.
- Manage stakeholders across sales, design, quality, production and the customer, and support Quality in preparing ITPs.
- Support estimation and tendering, and coordinate reverse-engineering and spare-parts projects for legacy and obsolete parts.
Required profile
- Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering (minimum Bachelor's).
- 5-6 years of experience in rotating equipment within oil & gas, energy or heavy engineering, ideally with an OEM, repair shop or operator's rotating-equipment function.
- Deep subject-matter expertise in pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes and drivers, including shafts, impellers, rotors, casings, seals, bearings and couplings.
- Knowledge of reverse engineering, spare-parts production, inspection and testing.
Required skills
- Reading and interpreting 3D models and 2D drawings with full GD&T.
- Familiarity with API (610, 611, 617, 682), ASTM, ISO and other standards.
- Working knowledge of assembly practice, fits and clearances, dynamic balancing, surface engineering and NDT.
- CAM/CNC programming and machining of rotating parts is an advantage.
- Project-management capability and strong communication across internal teams, customers and suppliers.
