Marine Inspector – Compliance & Operations

About the role

We are seeking a Marine Inspector to ensure our fleet of barges and vessels meets contractual, safety and regulatory requirements. The role involves planning audits, training crew and supporting continuous improvement across marine operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and coordinate barge audits to optimise operational efficiency and contractual compliance.
• Verify vessel readiness and compliance from a marine operations standpoint.
• Educate and train onboard personnel on maritime regulations, safety procedures and company standards.
• Inspect marine equipment and barge certificates to confirm adherence to industry standards and company policies.
• Participate in client inspections onboard and maintain professional relationships with client representatives.
• Monitor corrective actions, ensure timely closure and prevent recurrence.
• Validate marine documentation and reporting for accuracy and timely submission.
• Collaborate with internal departments to implement audit recommendations and improve processes.
• Review operational risks and provide guidance on mitigation measures related to vessel readiness and compliance.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, audits and compliance activities and report performance trends to the Compliance Manager.

Required profile

• Diploma in Nautical Science or equivalent maritime qualification.
• Chief Officer Certificate of Competency (COC); ADNOC & ARAMCO approvals preferred.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry, including at least 2 years as Chief Officer on sailing vessels.
