Markets Manager – Sub‑Saharan Africa & Indian Ocean

About the role

Join Etihad Airways as Markets Manager for Sub‑Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean, leading a team of Revenue Management specialists across a portfolio that includes South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, DRC, Eritrea, Seychelles, Zanzibar and the Maldives.

Key responsibilities

• Own revenue performance for the region, ensuring pricing, demand forecasting, inventory and flight performance meet market objectives.
• Lead and develop managers in Pricing, Demand, Flight Management and Analytics, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Execute market and point‑of‑sale strategies, monitor results and take corrective actions to achieve revenue targets.
• Oversee forecast accuracy, demand plans and pricing performance, supporting decisions with robust analysis and market intelligence.
• Track competitor activity, market trends and customer demand to identify commercial improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Network Planning, Sales, Commercial Agreements and Revenue Management stakeholders to resolve market challenges.
• Promote a test‑and‑learn mindset, using insights from past performance, special events and market developments to optimise results.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in airline Revenue Management, Pricing, Inventory Management or a comparable commercial function.
• Proven track record of leading and developing people‑leaders.
• Strong understanding of airline revenue management principles, including pricing, demand forecasting, inventory optimisation and commercial performance management.
