Material Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Waagner Biro Bridge Services is seeking an experienced Material Engineer to support its infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. The role involves ensuring that all construction materials meet project specifications, municipal standards, and quality requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review, evaluate and approve construction materials for infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and submit material approvals, technical submittals and related documentation.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors on material specifications and approvals.
• Monitor material testing activities and ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi Municipality standards.
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks to verify that materials used on‑site meet approved specifications.
• Maintain records of material approvals, test reports and quality documentation.
• Support project teams in resolving material‑related technical issues and ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Material Engineer on infrastructure projects in the UAE.
• Mandatory experience on Abu Dhabi Municipality or Al Ain Municipality infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure construction materials, specifications and quality control procedures.
• Familiarity with municipality approval processes and material submittal procedures.
• Good communication and coordination skills, ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
