Material Inventory Controller

About the role

The Material Inventory Controller is responsible for maintaining optimal stock levels to meet end‑user requirements while ensuring inventory value is kept at an optimum. The role involves managing replenishment processes across the main store and satellite warehouses, coordinating with procurement, and supporting audit activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain optimum stock using MIN/MAX, MRP, SDV, TV and SRL procedures.
• Oversee overall stock replenishment for main and satellite warehouses.
• Prepare purchase requisitions, purchase orders and long‑term contracts based on SRL and SDV.
• Evaluate stock groups, adjust levels, and address ordering shortcomings.
• Transfer materials to satellite stores via Transfer Vouchers.
• Follow up on pending purchase requisitions, orders and supplier issues.
• Optimize stock value, reduce non‑moving items and monitor inventory trends.
• Conduct regular stock‑taking, reconcile discrepancies and prepare statistical reports.
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and drive continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Experience with MIN/MAX inventory control methods.
• Familiarity with Material Requirement Planning (MRP) processes.
• Knowledge of inventory replenishment tools such as SDV, TV and SRL.
