Materials Assistant – Supervise Mobile Equipment & Riggers

About the role

The Materials Assistant will supervise Mobile Equipment Operators and Riggers responsible for shifting, collection and general materials movement on the base and quayside. The role ensures that all material handling activities are performed safely, efficiently and in line with company procedures and HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive work assignments from the Senior Supervisor and determine equipment and manpower requirements.
• Plan and organise the use of cranes, forklifts, tractors and lifting accessories for material transfers.
• Supervise shifting and collection operations involving drill pipes, casings, tools, chemicals, pallets, cargo cases, drums and other sensitive equipment.
• Accompany equipment operators to attach loads, position items, secure loads on trucks or vessels and provide hand signals.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Security and Environment policies, display safety notices and investigate incidents.
• Report unsafe conditions, accidents, equipment malfunctions or hazards to the Senior Supervisor promptly.

Required profile

• Experience supervising Mobile Equipment Operators and Riggers in a logistics or maritime environment.
• Good knowledge of HSE rules and ability to enforce safety procedures.
• Ability to read work assignments, plan equipment usage and give clear instructions.
• Willingness to participate in safety and fire‑fighting drills.
