Materials Inspector - Roads and Infrastructure

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Materials Inspector for a major Roads and Infrastructure project in Dubai covering NDRC, stormwater, sewerage lines and related works. The role covers both inspection and supervision of the works so that they are carried out in line with project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect site conditions before construction starts and check for obstructions, documenting existing conditions with photographs
• Review and verify delivered materials against approved samples, specifications and equipment lists, and report non-conformances to the Resident Engineer
• Ensure materials are stored and protected on site, and inspect temporary and permanent works against contract documents and approved shop drawings
• Maintain daily inspection logs, test reports and site records, and issue NCRs and SORs with follow-up on corrective actions
• Monitor site safety and report unsafe practices or incidents to the Resident Engineer
• Assist in inspecting completed works, prepare punch lists and monitor testing, commissioning and handover
• Review contractor RFIs and material variance requests, and coordinate with third-party testing laboratories and authorities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant technical field
• 5+ years of experience in laboratory materials testing, including field inspection of samples and materials
• Experience in roads, NDRC, stormwater, sewerage lines, pump stations or irrigation works preferred
• Middle East experience preferred; DCL approval preferred
