Mathematics Instructor

About the role

Mathnasium instructors deliver high-quality mathematical instruction to students using the Mathnasium Method, building confidence and self-esteem through personal, prescriptive teaching. They work in a team-teaching environment and report to the Center Director. The position is supervised by the Center Director.

Key responsibilities

• Teach using the Mathnasium methodology, terminology, instructional icons and prescribed practices, strictly aligned with each student's Learning Plan.
• Monitor progress during each session, give constructive feedback, and use manipulatives and varied approaches to support understanding.
• Plan, administer and correct assessments (pre-assessments, progress checks, post-assessments) and use results to inform instruction and student placement.
• Create, execute and update Learning Plans, flag gaps or readiness for advancement, and keep student binders accurate and up to date.
• Check in students at the start of sessions, monitor pacing, support end-of-session check-out, and escalate academic or behavioral concerns to center leadership.
• Take part in parent meetings, escort students to parents when appropriate, and help keep the center clean and organized.

Required profile

• Strong math skills in Algebra I, Algebra II, Trigonometry and higher math.
• Passion for teaching math and willingness to learn and apply the Mathnasium Method.
• Able to manage several students and tasks at once, with strong communication, organization and time-management skills.
• Friendly, professional demeanor with students, parents and colleagues; honest and ethical conduct.

Required skills

• Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning needs.
• Use of computers, laptops and tablets for instruction, documentation and assessment.

Schedule: Monday to Thursday 11:00am-7:00pm, Friday 11:00am-6:00pm, and Sunday 10:00am-5:00pm during the school year; Monday to Friday 10:00am-5:00pm during UAE MOE winter, spring and summer holidays. Training must be completed within designated timelines, and deviations from the schedule need prior notice and supervisor approval.
