Learning Support Assistant - Immediate Start

About the role

Repton Al Barsha, a Cognita school educating students from Nursery (FS1) to Year 11 and growing to Year 13, is looking for a passionate and dedicated full-time Learning Support Assistant with an immediate start. The role supports pupils with additional learning needs in the classroom and in withdrawal situations, working alongside the class teacher, inclusion teacher and SENCO.

Key responsibilities

• Provide additional support for identified pupils across the curriculum and help them integrate fully in classroom activities
• Implement IEP and learner profile targets and deliver interventions as directed by the inclusion teacher
• Monitor, record and report progress of IEP targets and interventions on planning sheets
• Make and adapt resources and learning materials, and provide modified materials as required
• Manage student behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy
• Give learning support 1:1 or in small groups, and provide positive praise and reinforcement
• Communicate with classroom teachers, attend team meetings, professional development and weekly line manager meetings, and contribute to termly review meetings
• Apply school policies on learning and behaviour and statutory guidance on disability discrimination and special educational needs, maintain confidentiality and follow safeguarding procedures
• Carry out additional duties as directed by the Inclusion Lead
