Mechanic – Ground Support Equipment

About the role

The Mechanic supports Aircraft Technicians and Licensed Aircraft Engineers in maintaining Emirates and third‑party aircraft at the docking station. The role ensures all ground support equipment is serviced safely and in compliance with GCAA regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior staff with aircraft fuel handling, wheel and brake servicing, nitrogen recharging, engine servicing and other operational tasks.
• Perform basic support servicing and component replacements on Emirates and third‑party aircraft under the supervision of Licensed Engineers.
• Inspect all equipment before use, report faults to the supervisor and ensure timely repair.
• Maintain tools, equipment and systems (including Ultramain) in good condition.
• Observe safety procedures, keep the work area clean and free of obstructions to prevent accidents.
• Clean aircraft and engine parts according to approved manuals.
• Support push‑back operations, ensuring they are carried out efficiently and safely.
• Assist Senior Mechanic or Aircraft Engineer with snag rectification and component changes using special tools to keep aircraft operational and avoid departure delays.

Required profile

• Vocational, National or Higher National Diploma (12+2 or equivalent) or apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electronic, Avionics or Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent training with a reputable airline or approved maintenance organization.
• Preferred experience in an engineering environment.
• Full awareness of safety procedures.
