Mechanical Engineer - Contracting

About the role

Careers International is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for a full-time position in Dubai. The engineer designs, develops and supervises the installation of mechanical systems across various projects, including site assessments, preparation of project specifications and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems, and prepare detailed engineering calculations, design drawings and technical reports.
• Oversee installation, operation and maintenance of mechanical systems on site, and conduct inspections and tests against specifications, safety standards and regulations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams, contractors and clients.
• Ensure compliance with codes, regulations and safety standards, and set up quality control procedures.
• Collaborate with architects, civil engineers and procurement teams, and coordinate project updates and documentation with clients and management.
• Maintain project records and prepare as-built drawings, operating manuals and maintenance procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in contracting or construction.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong project management skills, problem-solving and analytical abilities, and good written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency in mechanical design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Revit.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, safety standards and regulations for mechanical systems.
