BIM Manager - Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Parsons is looking for a BIM Manager to join its team in Abu Dhabi. The role develops and maintains detailed digital models using BIM software so that they meet architectural, engineering and project precision and compliance requirements. It covers BIM management throughout the construction stage, including coordination between infrastructure, utilities, landscape and structural disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage BIM activities within the consultant supervision team throughout construction.
• Establish, implement and monitor BIM workflows, standards, procedures and information management requirements.
• Review contractor BIM submissions, models, federated models, shop drawings and other digital deliverables for compliance and quality.
• Monitor model development and information requirements across project stages, including LOD 300, LOD 400 and LOD 500 deliverables.
• Manage multidisciplinary BIM coordination and lead clash detection and coordination processes.
• Monitor contractor compliance with the BIM Execution Plan, naming conventions, model standards and LOD requirements.
• Coordinate BIM technical matters between the supervision team, contractor, consultant, client and other stakeholders.
• Review contractor 4D and 5D BIM workflows, including links to schedules, sequencing, quantities and costs, and give technical guidance.
• Set up and maintain QA/QC processes for model and information validation against LOD 400 and LOD 500 requirements.
• Provide on-site leadership and guidance to the project team and identify ways to improve BIM processes and coordination efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, architecture, construction management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of total relevant experience and 5 years in the UAE.
• Proven experience as a BIM Manager or senior BIM professional in infrastructure construction or consultant supervision.
• Strong experience in multidisciplinary BIM coordination and construction-stage BIM management.
• Previous experience in infrastructure and landscape projects in the Middle East is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, Synchro Pro, Autodesk Construction Cloud/Forma and Asite.
• Knowledge of infrastructure and landscape BIM workflows, clash detection and information management.
• Understanding of LOD requirements and of 4D and 5D BIM methodologies.
• Familiarity with ISO 19650 and international BIM standards; familiarity with the Aldar BIM standard is highly desirable.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, and proven ability to lead BIM teams.
