Mechanical Quality Control Engineer – Oil & Gas EPC

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Quality Control Engineer to join our team on major Oil & Gas EPC projects in the UAE. The role involves ensuring that all mechanical construction and installation activities meet project specifications, industry codes, and client quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of mechanical installations, including piping (CS, SS, HDPE), HVAC, supports, valves, pumps and static equipment.
• Verify work against approved drawings, method statements, ITPs and specifications.
• Witness welding and NDT activities, coordinate RT, UT, MPI and PT with third‑party agencies, and maintain weld traceability.
• Supervise hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing, flushing, alignment and mechanical testing, and record results for approval.
• Inspect incoming materials, verify certifications and ensure proper storage and handling.
• Prepare inspection reports, RFIs, test packs, and compile mechanical dossiers for client handover.
• Raise and track NCRs, participate in root‑cause analysis and support continuous quality improvement.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants and PMC for inspection requests, joint walk‑downs and approvals.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of Mechanical QC experience on Oil & Gas EPC or industrial construction projects.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on field inspection covering piping, welding, HVAC and mechanical equipment.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
• Preferred NDT Level II certification (RT, UT, MPI, PT).

Required skills

• Mechanical drawings, P&IDs, isometrics and welding procedures.
• Hydro‑testing, pneumatic testing, flushing and alignment.
• Knowledge of ASME, API, ASTM, NFPA and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
• Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD and quality documentation systems.
