Medical Physicist – TLD Service

About the role

The Medical Physicist – TLD Service role ensures the quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of medical imaging modalities. You will be responsible for acceptance testing, periodic evaluation, and post‑repair verification of imaging equipment to protect patients and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform acceptance testing, periodic evaluations and post‑repair checks of diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine and MRI equipment.
• Determine radiation doses for various radiologic procedures and conduct radiation‑protection surveys.
• Prepare and present reports on safe use of ionizing radiation within the hospital.
• Provide in‑service training for physicians, radiographers, technicians and nursing staff.
• Write departmental policies and procedures for medical physics.
• Conduct shielding barrier calculations and monitor personnel doses using personal dosimetry systems.
• Execute quality‑assurance surveys and diagnostic QC tests on digital radiography, digital mammography and linear accelerators.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Physical Science or Physics (or equivalent).
• Completion of an internship in medical physics.
• Willingness to be on‑call according to operational needs.
• Ability to serve on committees when nominated.
