Medical Records Administrator

About the role

Mediclinic Parkview Hospital in Dubai is looking for a Medical Records Administrator to provide administrative and operational support to the Medical Records Department. The role ensures the accurate management, security, retrieval, scanning and release of patient medical records while complying with regulatory, confidentiality and organisational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Release of Information: process requests from patients, insurers and authorised stakeholders, verify approvals and authorisations, ensure timely and confidential release, and keep records of disclosures and medico-legal requests.
• Scanning and document management: prepare, sort and scan documents into the EMR system, check image quality and indexing accuracy, maintain physical and electronic filing systems, and support retrieval, archiving and tracking.
• Statistics and reporting: prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual MRD reports, maintain and analyse departmental data and KPIs, submit reports to management and regulators, and ensure accuracy of statistics.
• Medical records operations: review records for completeness, assist in coordinating Medical Records Committee meetings, help the Medical Records Officer conduct audits, follow up on pending reports and discharge summaries, and support quality improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 2 years of experience in a Medical Records Department in the Dubai/UAE healthcare sector.
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems, document scanning, record management and release of information.

Required skills

• English verbal and written communication.
• Microsoft computer literacy.
• Proficiency in an electronic medical record system and basic medical terminology.
• Time management, attention to detail, customer service focus, confidentiality and multi-tasking.
