MEP, LV & ELV Technician

About the role

A client in Abu Dhabi is looking for an MEP, LV & ELV Technician to test, configure, commission and maintain critical building infrastructure. The role covers Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems, including power distribution and emergency backup, alongside Building Management Systems (BMS), Access Control Systems (ACS) and CCTV surveillance. It also includes designing preventative maintenance plans and supervising them at multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test and commission MEP systems according to approved drawings and project specifications.
• Maintain and troubleshoot LV switchgear components such as ACBs, MCCBs, busbars and protection relays.
• Perform load bank testing and preventative maintenance on diesel generators and automatic transfer switches, and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Configure and commission BMS hardware and software, integrate equipment into the BMS network and troubleshoot communication faults and sensor calibrations.
• Install and commission IP-based CCTV, NVRs/DVRs and video management software, and program access control panels, card readers, biometrics and electronic door locks.
• Carry out end-to-end testing and commissioning before handover, keep technical logs, service reports and as-built documentation, and respond quickly to breakdowns.
• Follow local safety regulations, building codes and lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in MEP installation, power distribution (LV panels/generators) and low voltage systems.
• Deep knowledge of DEWA regulations for electrical installations and/or the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (ADDC) electricity wiring regulations.
• OEM certifications for BMS, ACS and CCTV platforms (Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Bosch, Hanwha Vision, Hikvision or similar) highly preferred.
• A valid ADQCC certificate for electricians/technicians or a track record of passing DEWA technical exams is a major advantage.
