MEP QA/QC Engineer

About the role

The MEP QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, compliance and performance of all mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations on construction projects. The role oversees inspections, testing and commissioning, verifies materials and workmanship, and maintains comprehensive quality documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the QA/QC plan for MEP systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and international codes.
• Review and approve sub‑mittals, shop drawings, method statements and material approvals.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of electrical and mechanical installations, preparing QA/QC and non‑conformance reports.
• Oversee inspection and testing of power distribution, lighting, earthing, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting and related systems.
• Coordinate and witness testing and commissioning activities, verifying correct installation and performance.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, material certifications and punch‑list items.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2‑5 years of QA/QC experience on large‑scale construction projects involving electrical and/or mechanical installations.
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (IEC, NEC, BS, ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA).
• Experience in supervising QA/QC activities and preparing technical documentation.

• Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
• Pressure testing, insulation resistance testing, continuity testing and non‑destructive testing.
• Testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical installations.
