MHE Electrical Technician - Warehouse & Logistics

About the role

CBRE Excellerate, part of the CBRE group, is looking for an MHE technician to carry out planned and reactive maintenance of material handling equipment at warehouse and logistics facilities in the UAE. The focus is on keeping conveyor and sortation systems running safely and reliably, with a primary specialization in mechanical maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and attend equipment breakdowns.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair conveyors, belts, rollers, bearings, chains, gearboxes and mechanical drives.
• Replace components, align equipment, track belts, adjust tension and lubricate.
• Identify defects and recommend corrective actions and spare parts.
• Record maintenance activities, defects and spare parts usage in the CMMS/CAFM system.
• Follow LOTO, PTW, machine-guarding and other safety procedures; stop work and escalate unsafe conditions.
• Verify equipment readiness after repairs and testing.

Required profile

• ITI or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience with conveyors, mechanical drives and warehouse equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of conveyor systems, rollers, chains, pulleys, bearings and mechanical drives, gearboxes, couplings and shafts.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, wear inspection and basic vibration checks.
• Knowledge of LOTO, PTW and machine-guarding requirements.

Required skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting, belt tracking, bearing and gearbox replacement, alignment and lubrication.
• Use of hand tools and CMMS/CAFM systems.
• Communication, accuracy, problem solving and decision making.

The role involves working across warehouse and logistics sites in the UAE, including shifts, weekends and emergency call-outs, in line with client safety procedures and site requirements. Internal partners include Operations, the MHE team leader, HSE, the helpdesk and procurement; external partners are client engineering teams, OEMs, suppliers and specialist contractors.
