MPD Operator

About the role

The MPD Operator will support the setup, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) systems for offshore applications. This full‑time position is based in Dubai and involves extensive travel to offshore rigs.

Key responsibilities

• Operate MPD systems for pressurized mud‑cap and under‑balanced drilling, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Assist with drilling, connections, formation integrity tests, logging and cementing during MPD sections.
• Create daily and end‑of‑well reports documenting MPD activities.
• Perform routine MPD calculations and equipment maintenance, including lubrication and overhaul.
• Participate in offsite DWOP, HAZID and training exercises, and support installation and commissioning of MPD equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years technical experience in managed pressure drilling and support systems.
• 2+ years direct experience operating MPD systems.
• Valid well‑control certification.
• Ability to travel 100% and work offshore on a rotational basis.

Required skills

• Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) system operation and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with active and rotary control devices and hydraulic downhole models.
• Hydraulic, electronic and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
