Music Teacher - Immediate Start

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a Music Teacher for Al Rayana Charter School in Abu Dhabi, an American curriculum, mixed-gender primary school in a modern building. The school seeks a candidate who shares its core values and understands the values of the region, with an immediate start.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver inspiring music lessons that meet curriculum requirements and cater to the whole ability range in the class
• Plan engaging lessons with colleagues, liaise with them flexibly and work with curriculum support staff where applicable
• Work with parents to support children's happiness and academic outcomes, and communicate about achievements and well-being using school systems such as CPOMS
• Organise classroom provision and learning resources, including displays, and run a weekly ECA each term
• Assess and record student progress using Target Tracker, use assessment data to inform planning and intervention, and give feedback to parents at conferences
• Meet with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists when needed
• Embed the Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes across the curriculum
• Manage classes effectively, follow the school's behaviour policy, and act as a positive role model
• Take part in curriculum action groups, school events, outings and activities, and run a weekly ECA

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in the related subject with PGCE or another teacher qualification
• Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience
• Previous experience working with students whose English is not their first language
• Clean enhanced DBS check or police check
• Commitment to the well-being of children, recent involvement in extra-curricular activities, and respect for all members of the school community
