Naval Architect – Marine Vessel Class & Maintenance

About the role

The Naval Architect will ensure marine vessels comply with IACS class rules, IMO regulations and project‑specific requirements, overseeing maintenance, surveys and modifications.

Key responsibilities

• Maintains valid class and statutory certificates for marine vessels in line with IACS rules and IMO regulations.
• Plans and oversees dry‑docking maintenance, bottom and class special surveys, and prepares scope of works and cost estimates.
• Monitors vessels due for class surveys using consolidated equipment lists and IACS online portals.
• Conducts onboard inspections, prepares equipment transfer inspection reports, and ensures compliance with safety and fire‑fighting regulations.
• Manages budget estimations, comparative statements for third‑party repair yards, and maintains electronic drawings and specifications.
• Tracks inventory of navigational, lifesaving and fire‑fighting appliances and ensures stocked items are available for project needs.
• Supports conversion, modification and stability studies of vessels for specific project operations.
• Performs internal on‑hire/off‑hire surveys during mobilization and demobilization.

Required profile

• University degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Naval Architect, familiar with design and operations of shipyards.
• Proficiency in ship design software and engineering tools such as AutoCAD.
