Network & System Security Engineer

About the role

Axians Emirates, an operational entity of Cegelec Abu Dhabi (a subsidiary of VINCI Energies), is looking for a Network & System Security Engineer to support one of its clients in securing and maintaining network and system infrastructure, including IT and OT environments. The role covers managing network security solutions, implementing security controls, monitoring security events, supporting incident response and keeping critical systems available and secure.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, administer and maintain network security solutions such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, network access control and other security platforms.
• Implement and maintain network segmentation, firewall rules, access controls and secure remote connectivity across IT and relevant OT environments.
• Harden Windows/Linux servers, network devices and supporting infrastructure according to approved security standards.
• Monitor security alerts, logs and network activity, investigate suspicious events and support cybersecurity incident response.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, coordinate patching and remediation, and verify the effectiveness of security measures.
• Review and implement security-related changes, troubleshoot security issues and ensure operational continuity.
• Coordinate with IT teams, cybersecurity teams and vendors, and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, configurations, procedures and incident reports.

Required profile

• 2-5 years of experience in network security, infrastructure security, systems administration or cybersecurity operations.
• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, IT, network engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on experience configuring and managing enterprise firewalls, VPNs and network security solutions, preferably Fortinet or Palo Alto.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, network segmentation and access control.
• Familiarity with security monitoring, vulnerability management and incident response processes.
• Knowledge of standards such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF or IEC 62443, and experience in OT/ICS, critical infrastructure or Oil & Gas, is an advantage.

Required skills

• Windows/Linux security administration, system hardening, Active Directory and endpoint security.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Fortinet FCP, Palo Alto PCNSA or CompTIA Security+ are an advantage.
