Non-resident Full-time Professor in Sustainability & Green Economy

About the role

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) seeks distinguished scholars to join its School of Sustainability and Green Economy as non‑resident full‑time faculty. The position is remote and focuses on delivering undergraduate and graduate programmes entirely online while advancing research in sustainable finance, ESG, carbon management, climate policy, or environmental economics.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in a fully online environment (asynchronous or synchronous).
• Design, develop, and continuously improve engaging digital course content.
• Maintain an active research agenda, publish in reputable journals, and contribute to the university’s scholarly output.
• Mentor and advise students remotely, supporting their academic and professional development.
• Participate virtually in faculty meetings, committees, and university service activities.

Required profile

• Completed terminal degree (PhD or equivalent) in sustainability‑related discipline at the time of application.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following: sustainable finance, ESG, carbon management, climate policy, or environmental economics.
• Proven record of scholarly publications and research impact.
• Experience delivering courses online and familiarity with digital pedagogy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) for course delivery.
• Ability to create high‑quality digital learning materials.
• Strong academic writing and research methodology skills.
