Operational Risk Analyst - Business Banking

About the role

Rakbank is looking for an Operational Risk Analyst to join its Business Banking team and act as the First Line of Defence. The role helps identify, assess, monitor and mitigate operational risks while strengthening governance, control effectiveness and continuous process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain operational risk management frameworks, tools and processes across Business Banking
• Facilitate Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) and conduct control testing to find gaps in processes, systems, compliance and training
• Monitor and analyse Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and escalate emerging risks and trends
• Manage operational risk incidents, including investigation, tracking and resolution
• Coordinate risk acceptance submissions, approvals, renewals and stakeholder engagement
• Prepare risk dashboards, management reports and governance updates, and track risk themes, challenges and remediation actions
• Identify control weaknesses and recommend practical mitigations
• Review end-to-end business processes and customer journeys, develop process documentation and lead root cause analysis of operational issues and complaints
• Evaluate process changes, new products and customer communications from a risk and control perspective, and support process re-engineering

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Exposure to operational risk management, business controls, business analysis, operations, governance or project management
• Understanding of First Line of Defence (1LOD) risk management practices
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, able to work independently and manage several priorities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and banking systems
• Preferred: experience with RCSA, control testing and risk assessments
• Preferred: knowledge of operational risk frameworks and governance, process mapping, process improvement and root cause analysis
• Preferred: ability to interpret risk data and produce management reporting
