Operations Director

About the role

The Operations Director oversees all operation departments so that production, quality and financial targets set in the annual budget are achieved. The role drives departmental functionality, continuous improvement and the implementation of organizational strategy, coordinating closely with Commercial, Finance, HR, Safety and other functions to deliver seamless order processing, cost optimization and timely delivery. It is an on-site position in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor departmental results against budgeted KPIs, production output and cost targets
• Work with Commercial to ensure timely, cost-effective and quality-driven order fulfillment
• Review and improve work practices, productivity and equipment utilization
• Set development goals and lead short- and long-term production planning, including raw material forecasting
• Conduct regular cost reviews, oversee investment plans and lead annual budgeting
• Collaborate with Finance, HR and Safety on budgeting, manpower planning, training and compliance
• Manage operational risks related to quality, cost, capacity and process development
• Implement training and succession plans, enforce safety rules and oversee QMS, audits and certification renewals
• Approve operations documentation and implement employee performance evaluations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Industrial Engineering; MBA preferred
• 10+ years of direct operations experience, preferably in manufacturing or process-driven industries
• Demonstrated record of innovation and process improvement
• Strong financial acumen for cost analysis, budgeting and cost optimization
• Solid understanding of supply chain integration and interdepartmental coordination
• Project management skills and strategic planning for operational development
• Experience in non-mass-production environments is an advantage
