Operations & Maintenance Manager – Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical Engineering

About the role

The Operations & Maintenance Manager leads the operation, maintenance and service delivery of automated material handling systems, cargo handling equipment, automated parking systems and warehouse automation solutions across customer sites in the UAE. The role ensures maximum system availability, customer satisfaction, contractual compliance, operational efficiency and profitability while upholding the highest safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day operation and maintenance activities, ensuring preventive, predictive and corrective tasks meet SLA and KPI commitments.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules, manage emergency breakdown response and conduct root‑cause analysis for major failures.
• Provide technical guidance for PLC, SCADA, conveyor, ASRS, automated parking and lifting equipment.
• Supervise engineers, technicians and subcontractors, conduct performance appraisals and plan manpower.
• Act as primary client contact for operational matters, handle complaints and identify contract renewal opportunities.
• Manage maintenance budgets, spare‑parts inventory and support annual maintenance contract proposals.
• Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations and ISO 9001/14001/45001 standards, conduct safety inspections and lead incident investigations.
• Prepare monthly operational reports on system availability, downtime, KPI performance and budget adherence.
• Drive continuous improvement through reliability‑centered maintenance, predictive maintenance initiatives and system upgrades.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial automation or material‑handling systems, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Proven experience managing installation teams, multiple projects and Annual Maintenance Contracts in the UAE or GCC.
• Hands‑on experience with cargo handling, automated parking, warehouse automation, conveyors, ASRS or airport logistics systems.
• UAE driving licence is an advantage; PMP, NEBOSH/IOSH or PLC/SCADA certifications are desirable.
