Oracle Database Engineer

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain Oracle engineered systems for its clients in Abu Dhabi. You will work directly with customers, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of critical Oracle infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, administer, patch, and troubleshoot Oracle engineered systems such as Exadata, Oracle Database Appliance (ODA), Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA) and Private Cloud Appliance (PCA).
• Manage Oracle SPARC and x86 server platforms, including hardware lifecycle, firmware updates and capacity planning.
• Administer Oracle ZFS Storage, handling configuration, replication, performance tuning and fault resolution.
• Operate and support Oracle Solaris and Oracle Linux environments at an advanced level.
• Conduct proactive health checks, risk assessments and infrastructure reviews for client environments.
• Respond to escalated technical issues, produce runbooks, incident reports and configuration records.
• Liaise directly with clients, providing professional guidance and maintaining strong relationships.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of hands‑on experience in Oracle infrastructure and engineered systems administration.
• Deep knowledge of Oracle Exadata architecture, Smart Scan, Hybrid Columnar Compression, Storage Indexes and Flash Cache.
• Practical experience with ODA, ZDLRA and PCA platforms.
• Strong understanding of Oracle RAC/ASM concepts, ASM disk‑group management and backup/recovery tools (RMAN, Data Pump).
• Solid experience administering Oracle SPARC and x86 servers and Oracle ZFS Storage.
• Proficiency with Oracle Solaris, Oracle Linux and Oracle KVM virtualization.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
