Painter & Polisher – Luxury Hotel (Dubai)

About the role

The Painter & Polisher is responsible for maintaining the appearance, condition and finish of interior and exterior surfaces, furniture, fixtures and equipment throughout the Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre. This role supports the high standards expected of a luxury Forbes Five‑Star hotel and contributes to an exceptional environment for guests and team members.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out painting, touch‑up, varnishing and polishing works across guest rooms, suites, public areas, meeting rooms and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping and repairing minor imperfections before finishing.
• Mix paints and finishing materials to match approved colour schemes and apply them using brushes, rollers or spray guns.
• Polish and refinish wooden furniture, doors, frames and other fixtures.
• Perform minor repairs to painted surfaces, addressing scratches, chips, cracks and dents.
• Inspect areas, report defects and support preventive maintenance activities.
• Follow health and safety procedures, handling and disposing of paints and chemicals safely.

Required profile

• Diploma or relevant qualification in engineering or a related technical field.
• Previous experience as a multi‑skilled technician or in engineering within a luxury hotel environment.
• Positive attitude, proactive approach and strong commitment to service quality.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and professional grooming.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with attention to detail.
