Pastry Commis (Level 1)

About the role

The Pastry Commis (Level 1) will support the pastry team at Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort, preparing and presenting high‑quality desserts and pastries for hotel guests. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in a luxury hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare mise‑en‑place for all pastry outlets as required.
• Assist in the preparation and service of pastries, cakes, and desserts.
• Follow food preparation and presentation guidelines to ensure consistent quality.
• Maintain clean, hygienic work areas and adhere to food safety and HACCP standards.
• Handle food storage, dating, rotation, and proper labeling.
• Support events, banquets and other functions with pastry service.
• Participate in departmental training and follow checklists and cleaning schedules.
• Comply with personal hygiene, grooming, fire safety and health‑and‑safety rules.

Required profile

• Basic cake decorating, piping, glazing and dessert plating abilities.
• Knowledge of baking techniques and operation of pastry equipment.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and sanitation (HACCP) principles.
• Awareness of proper food storage and handling practices.
