Patient Safety & Quality Officer

About the role

The Patient Safety & Quality Officer supports the development, implementation and monitoring of quality and safety initiatives to improve patient care and outcomes. The role involves collecting, analysing and reporting data on safety incidents, quality performance and regulatory compliance, working closely with the PSQ Manager and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain records, filing systems and logs; schedule meetings and take minutes.
• Assist the Head of Department (HOD) with JCI accreditation documentation and meetings.
• Support implementation and follow‑up of the PSQ Improvement Plan activities.
• Collect, validate and analyse safety and quality data; produce reports to track improvement effectiveness.
• Participate in incident, outbreak and root‑cause investigations.
• Ensure compliance with OSH, infection control and waste‑management policies.
• Develop, monitor and support the hospital Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSHMS) in line with DHA/MOH standards.
• Prepare risk assessments, hazard reports and near‑miss documentation.

Required profile

• Graduate of a Secretarial Course or equivalent.
• Minimum six months experience in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent oral and written English; Arabic desirable but not essential.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Strong data analysis and reporting abilities.
