Payments Strategy Associate - Chargebacks & E-commerce

About the role

Chargeblast is a chargeback management platform that helps e-commerce merchants prevent disputes, reduce chargeback rates and optimise their payment operations. It is hiring a Payments Strategy Associate in Dubai to act as an in-house payments consultant, working across PSPs such as Checkout.com, Stripe and Adyen, as well as Ethoca and Verifi RDR alert programs. The role sits in the Payments Strategy team and involves analysing payment and chargeback data, spotting risks and recommending ways to improve approval rates, dispute ratios and overall payment performance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse merchant chargeback, dispute, pre-dispute alert and payment data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Review merchant performance across Chargeblast products (Deflections, Alerts and Recovery) to spot potential payment or chargeback risks early.
• Develop data-driven recommendations to lower chargebacks, improve approval and recovery outcomes and keep dispute ratios healthy.
• Evaluate merchant payment setups, including processors, MIDs, descriptors, card networks and transaction flows.
• Work with merchants to turn data into clear, actionable advice and present findings in merchant meetings.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as Success, Alert Operations, Recovery, Sales and Engineering to implement payment strategies.
• Keep up to date with Visa, Mastercard, processor and dispute-program changes and e-commerce payment trends.
• Help build internal payment strategy frameworks, SOPs, reporting and best practices, and support ad-hoc consulting projects.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in chargebacks, disputes, payments or payment operations.
• Strong understanding of chargeback and dispute management processes.
• Comfortable explaining complex payment concepts simply to merchants and leading online meetings.
• Adaptable, detail-oriented and able to handle several accounts or projects at once in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Visa and Mastercard pre-dispute alert programs such as Ethoca Alerts, CDRN and/or Verifi RDR.
• Working knowledge of payment processors and platforms such as Stripe, Shopify Payments, Checkout.com and Adyen.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving; working with spreadsheets, reports and dashboards.
• Preferred: experience with e-commerce merchants or PSPs, chargeback ratio and approval-rate analysis, and Excel/Google Sheets or Microsoft Office.
