Payroll Specialist (Greek Speaker)

About the role

The Payroll Specialist (IC2) is based in the UAE and ensures accurate, timely and compliant payroll processing for Greece (the primary market) and supports payroll operations in Jordan, Iraq and the UAE. The role covers the full payroll cycle, from auditing employee records to month-end close, and requires deep working knowledge of Greek payroll.

Key responsibilities

• Audit employee data and master data, including AMKA, AFM tax numbers and bank details
• Ensure compliance with Greek Labor Law, Income Tax (AADE) and Social Security (e-EFKA), and with the requirements of Jordan, Iraq and the UAE
• Prepare monthly e-EFKA declarations, withholding tax payments, ERGANI II notifications and annual earnings certificates
• Review and post leave transactions and maintain end-of-service and severance records
• Validate payroll transactions, including the Greek 14-salary cycle, and run variance analysis and general ledger reconciliations
• Calculate statutory deductions and remittances, prepare payslips and handle employee queries
• Process off-cycle payments and upload payroll files to the bank
• Support internal and external audits and propose process improvements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field
• At least 3 years of payroll experience, including hands-on Greek payroll, preferably in a multinational or regional organization
• Working knowledge of payroll in Jordan, Iraq and the UAE; full expertise in each country is not required
• UAE-based professional, fluent Greek and English speaker, eligible to work in the UAE
• Strong understanding of Greek labor law, income tax and social security regulations, and awareness of GDPR

Required skills

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics for payroll processing, reporting and reconciliation
• Working knowledge of ERP and payroll systems (Microsoft Dynamics and Workday)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools
