Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon – Lead Heart Surgery in Saudi Arabia

About the role

We are seeking a board‑certified Consultant Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon to join a leading healthcare institution in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will deliver advanced surgical care to infants, children and adolescents with congenital and acquired heart disease, while contributing to research, education and quality improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex paediatric cardiac surgeries, including arterial switch operations, Tetralogy of Fallot repair, open‑heart procedures, valve repairs and replacements.
• Provide comprehensive pre‑operative, intra‑operative and post‑operative care, including management of critically ill patients in the Paediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
• Collaborate with paediatric cardiologists, cardiac anaesthesiologists, perfusionists, intensivists, radiologists and nursing teams to optimise outcomes.
• Participate in emergency cardiac surgery services, on‑call rotations and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Lead outpatient follow‑up clinics, counsel families on diagnosis, treatment options and long‑term management.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety and ethical standards.
• Supervise, mentor and train junior surgeons, residents, fellows and allied health professionals.
• Contribute to clinical research, publications and continuing medical education activities.

Required profile

• Board certification in Paediatric Cardiac Surgery.
• Minimum five years of experience performing paediatric cardiac procedures.
• Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and manage critically ill patients.
• Strong commitment to patient safety, research and education.
