People & Organisation Manager

About the role

The People & Organisation Manager leads all people‑related activities for a large frontline workforce in supermarket operations, ensuring effective staffing, engagement and compliance across multiple stores.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and maintain optimal staffing levels through workforce planning and close collaboration with recruitment teams.
• Support store leaders with performance reviews, coaching, and performance‑related interventions.
• Manage employee‑relations matters, including grievances, investigations and disciplinary actions.
• Oversee onboarding, training and development programmes for frontline staff.
• Lead initiatives to boost morale, engagement and retention of store‑based employees.
• Coach store managers and supervisors to strengthen leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Monitor attendance, absenteeism and time‑keeping trends and take corrective action.
• Ensure consistent execution of core P&O processes such as probation assessments, talent identification and improvement plans.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of People & Organisation experience, including 2–3 years in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Proven experience managing large frontline teams across multiple sites.
• Strong knowledge of UAE labour laws and compliance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Resilient, calm under pressure and able to manage ambiguity and tight timelines.
• Fluent in English; Arabic or other regional languages a plus.
