About the role

GEMS American Academy in Abu Dhabi is seeking enthusiastic Physics teachers to join its team from August 2026. The school follows an American curriculum with an International Baccalaureate pathway, offering a dynamic environment where inquiry‑based learning and global citizenship are central.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging high‑school Physics lessons aligned with American and IB standards.
• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including English language learners and gifted students.
• Foster a respectful, collaborative classroom culture that promotes curiosity and well‑being.
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning experiences.
• Assess student progress using authentic methods and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues on unit planning and curriculum development.
• Participate in co‑curricular and community programmes to support holistic education.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a subject‑related degree with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, PGDE, state licence, or equivalent) in Physics.
• Proven experience teaching high‑school Physics, preferably within an American or IB curriculum.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students through purposeful learning.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, reflective approach.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
