Pipeline/Welding & NDT Inspector

About the role

The Pipeline/Welding & NDT Inspector will support the Abu Dhabi IND team by ensuring all welding, pipeline and non‑destructive testing activities comply with international codes and client specifications. Reporting to the Team Leader, the role involves direct interaction with clients and internal technical managers.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify vendor/manufacturer documents, material certificates and inspection & test plans against relevant codes (ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM, BS) and project specifications.
• Conduct material receiving inspections, witness weld qualification procedures, approve welding procedures, PWHT, hydrostatic and pneumatic testing, and review radiographs/NDT reports.
• Monitor and approve all welding and NDT work, raise non‑conformance reports and verify corrective actions.
• Prepare concise weekly and monthly inspection reports and maintain material control and preservation records.

Required profile

• CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI certification with at least 5 years post‑certification experience (or equivalent).
• ASNT Level 2 in RT, MT, PT and UT with minimum 3 years practical experience.
• Diploma (3 years) with >12 years or Bachelor (4 years) with >10 years industrial QA/QC experience in pipeline/welding & NDT, including ≥8 years (diploma) or ≥6 years (bachelor) in oil & gas.
• Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM, BS) and ability to work with client quality systems.

Required skills

• Welding inspection and qualification (CSWIP, AWS CWI).
• Non‑destructive testing – RT, MT, PT, UT (ASNT Level 2).
• Familiarity with codes: ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM, BS, ISO.
• Material receiving inspection, PWHT monitoring, hydrostatic/pneumatic test witnessing.
• Preparation of inspection reports and non‑conformance documentation.
