Piping Engineer – Fabrication (Oil & Gas EPC)

About the role

Archirodon is seeking an experienced Piping Engineer to lead fabrication activities for its Oil, Gas and Chemicals division in Abu Dhabi. The role involves overseeing pipe cutting, welding, spool fabrication and ensuring compliance with international codes.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret piping isometric drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, specifications and construction work packs.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise piping fabrication activities in line with project schedules.
• Ensure compliance with codes such as ASME B31.3, ASME Section IX, API and ASTM.
• Prepare and review fabrication work packages, material take‑offs (MTO) and bills of materials (BOM).
• Supervise pipe cutting, fit‑up, welding, spool fabrication, assembly and dimensional inspection.
• Monitor progress, quality, productivity and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinate NDT, PWHT, hydro‑testing and other inspection activities.
• Prepare progress and productivity reports and support project meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7‑10 years of experience in piping fabrication on Oil & Gas, refinery, petrochemical, LNG or EPC projects.
• Strong knowledge of welding, NDT, hydro‑testing, material control and relevant international codes.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• ASME B31.3 and ASME Section IX standards.
• API and ASTM specifications.
• Interpretation of P&IDs and isometric drawings.
• Welding procedures (WPS) and qualification (PQR).
• NDT and hydro‑testing techniques.
