Planning Engineer - Civil

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a Planning Engineer for civil construction projects in Dubai. The Planning Engineer develops, monitors and updates project schedules so that construction projects finish on time and within budget, coordinates with project teams, analyses risks and keeps schedules aligned with contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project or equivalent tools, including baseline programs, work breakdown structures and construction methodologies.
• Ensure schedules match contractual milestones and client requirements, and develop short- and long-term planning strategies.
• Track progress, identify delays and recommend corrective actions; conduct critical path analysis and prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Analyse delays, prepare extension of time (EOT) claims, support the commercial team on contractual claims and variation orders, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Work with project managers, site engineers, quantity surveyors and subcontractors, and give technical input to tender schedules, contract programs and cash flow forecasts.
• Ensure schedules comply with project specifications, company policies and local regulations, and assist in planning HSE activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in planning and scheduling in the construction industry.
• PMP, PSP or equivalent certification preferred.

Required skills

• Expertise in Primavera P6, MS Project and scheduling techniques.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, EOT claims and risk management.
• Proficiency in resource and cost-loaded scheduling.
