Planning Engineer

About the role

The Planning Engineer will lead the planning, monitoring, and control of project activities to ensure timely and cost‑effective execution. This role focuses on tracking engineering, procurement, construction progress and resource utilization while identifying risks and variances.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, update, and monitor project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Review and verify project data, ensuring proper linkage within programs for accurate progress measurement.
• Track project progress against approved baselines and highlight schedule variances or delays.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, site execution, and accounting teams to collect and validate project information.
• Monitor expenditures, calculate incurred costs, and report balance quantities and prevailing rates.
• Assist cost‑control activities by flagging cost‑related risks and deviations.
• Prepare and maintain logs related to project wastage and submit weekly summaries for management review.
• Generate periodic reports on project progress, productivity, wastage, and updated timelines.
• Provide planning data and reports to the Planning Manager as required.
• Support project teams in achieving milestones and delivery targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in planning and project controls within the contracting or construction industry.

Required skills

• Primavera P6 for project scheduling and progress tracking.
