Planning Engineer – Oil & Gas FEED & Detailed Design

About the role

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling engineering consultancy projects in the Oil & Gas sector during the FEED and Detailed Design phases. The role works closely with engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain engineering project schedules for FEED and Detailed Design projects, including baseline schedules, manpower histograms, and progress curves.
• Use Primavera P6 and/or MS Project to create and update schedules and establish work breakdown structures (WBS) aligned with project scope.
• Monitor engineering progress against baseline schedules, collect inputs from discipline leads, and update schedules regularly.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and S‑curves; identify schedule slippages, risks, and propose recovery plans.
• Coordinate with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electrical, Civil, and Safety disciplines.
• Support Project Managers and Engineering Managers with planning data, forecasts, and reporting.
• Interface with clients, PMC, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with contractual milestones.

Required profile

• B.E / B.Tech in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical preferred).
• 8–10 years of experience in planning and scheduling for oil & gas engineering consultancy projects, specifically FEED and Detailed Design.
• Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary environments and manage complex project schedules.
