Plant Mechanic – Industrial Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a Plant Mechanic to join our government‑run industrial facility in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping plant machinery running smoothly through routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. This role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of mechanical systems in a dynamic process‑industry environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and determine the most effective repair method.
• Repair or replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Carry out inspections and functional tests to verify correct operation.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and schematic diagrams to guide maintenance activities.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of hands‑on experience as a mechanic in an industrial or process setting.
• Diploma, vocational training or certification in mechanical maintenance or a related field.
• Ability to work safely and follow established maintenance procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
• Welding skills for component repair.
• Interpretation of technical manuals, blueprints and schematic diagrams.
• Mechanical diagnostics and fault isolation.
• Routine maintenance and equipment testing.
