PLC & SCADA Engineer

About the role

The PLC & SCADA Engineer will design, program, test, commission and maintain PLC, HMI and SCADA systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring reliable operation and compliance with project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Design PLC control systems and develop software according to functional design documents.
• Create and configure SCADA and HMI applications for plant monitoring, including alarms, trending and user security.
• Perform FAT and SAT, commission systems on‑site, conduct I/O testing and troubleshoot communication issues.
• Coordinate with instrumentation, electrical and mechanical teams, and integrate field devices such as flow meters, pressure transmitters and analyzers.
• Prepare documentation including functional design specifications, operation manuals, commissioning reports and as‑built records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 3–8 years of industrial automation experience, with at least 5 years on water or wastewater treatment projects.
• Proven experience with PLC programming, SCADA development and system commissioning.

Required skills

• PLC platforms: Siemens S7‑1200/1500, S7‑300/400, Allen‑Bradley (Rockwell), Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi, Omron.
• SCADA/HMI: Siemens WinCC (TIA Portal, Unified), FactoryTalk View, WINCC SCADA, Siemens Comfort Panels, Weintek.
• Communication protocols: Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC.
• Software tools: Siemens TIA Portal, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office.
