PLC & SCADA Engineer - Water & Wastewater

About the role

Burjline Builders is looking for a PLC & SCADA Engineer in Dubai to design, programme, test, commission, troubleshoot and maintain PLC, HMI and SCADA systems for water and wastewater treatment plants. The role integrates instrumentation, electrical systems, VFDs, analyzers and field devices to ensure reliable plant operation and compliance with project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Design PLC control systems and develop PLC software according to project specifications and functional design documents.
• Design and configure SCADA and HMI applications, and prepare control philosophies, I/O lists, network architecture and automation documentation.
• Review P&IDs, electrical drawings and control panel drawings.
• Program PLCs for treatment processes using Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP and OPC.
• Develop SCADA screens, alarms, event logging, historical trending, reporting, user access and security, and integrate PLCs with SCADA servers.
• Carry out FAT, SAT, I/O testing, loop checking, troubleshooting and support plant start-up.
• Interface with flow meters, pressure, level, pH, conductivity, DO, turbidity and chlorine analyzers, and coordinate with electrical and mechanical teams.
• Prepare functional design specifications, operation manuals, commissioning reports, as-built documentation, backups of PLC and SCADA programmes and technical reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 3-8 years of experience in industrial automation, with at least 5 years on water or wastewater treatment projects.
• Experience in WWTP, STP, WTP, RO, UF/MBR, pumping stations, desalination or industrial water treatment is highly preferred.
• Preferred certifications: Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric, ISA CAP; valid UAE driving licence preferred.

• Software: Siemens TIA Portal, WinCC, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office
