Post-Doctoral Associate in Electrical & Computer Engineering

About the role

The Clinical Artificial Intelligence Lab at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking a post‑doctoral associate to develop advanced machine‑learning methods for healthcare applications. The role focuses on multi‑modal learning, foundation models and other cutting‑edge AI techniques applied to electronic health records and medical imaging.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement novel ML methodologies for diagnostics and prognostics in healthcare.
• Conduct experiments, compare against state‑of‑the‑art baselines and publish results in high‑impact venues.
• Maintain reproducible research code and manage sensitive medical datasets responsibly.
• Assist with grant preparation and collaborate with NYU Global Network researchers and local medical institutions.

Required profile

• PhD (or equivalent) completed within the last 5 years in machine learning, AI or a related field.
• First‑author peer‑reviewed publications (or under review) demonstrating research excellence.
• Strong programming experience in Python and deep‑learning libraries.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
